Gabriel Perez Mesa
I am a PhD student in civil and environmental engineering department's Hydraulics and Water Resources Program at the University of Iowa. I work with Professor Ricardo Mantilla in hydrologic modeling and theory of floods. I work with the Scaling Theory of Floods across the Mississippi Basin, looking at deep understanding in peak flows for different temporal and spatial scales. I am a native of Colombia. I received a BS in civil engineering and a MS in water resources engineering from the National University of Colombia in 2012 and 2015, respectively. My research interests are surface hydrology, statistics and geographic information system with the approach of extreme events on flows.
