My work with the IFC is funded through a USDA Conservation Innovation Grant awarded to the Iowa League of Cities to develop a nutrient trading system in Iowa to improve water quality and reduce costs to point sources and taxpayers. I am developing the scientific framework for this project by evaluating agricultural conservation practices for nutrient and flow reduction under variable hydrologic conditions using watershed models. My research interests are in ecohydrology, applying engineering and hydrologic principles to relevant environmental and ecological issues. I earned a BS in civil engineering from Washington State University in May 2012 and an MS in civil & environmental engineering from the University of Iowa in May 2014.
