Research Support Coordinator

IIHR—Hydroscience & Engineering, THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA, has an immediate opening for a Research Support Coordinator. The candidate will assist in the development and implementation of communications and outreach programs for the Iowa Flood Center’s research projects. This includes serving as an effective and knowledgeable liaison between the Iowa Flood Center staff and external stakeholders (agency personnel, policy makers, community leaders, and the general public). Examples of specific duties include: working closely with internal and external stakeholders to help develop, organize, and implement outreach programs; evaluating programs; preparing articles and reports; and developing and maintaining a database of external stakeholders across the state. This is a two-year term position, with the possibility for continuation dependent on funding.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, geography, geosciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
