Iowa Flood Center (IFC) staff will participate at the Iowa League of Cities Annual Conference happening Sept. 15-17, 2021 in Coralville, Iowa.
Join our presentation on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 8:15-9:15 am to learn about tools and resources available to cities and the public through the Iowa Flood Information System (IFIS). IFIS is an easy-to-use, Google Maps–based web platform developed by the Iowa Flood Center (IFC) at the University of Iowa. The system provides real-time information on watersheds, precipitation, and stream levels for more than 1,000 Iowa communities. IFIS helps communities prepare for and respond to floods before they occur, helping to minimize flood impacts and associated damage. This presentation will provide an overview of the tools and resources available on IFIS and how communities can use information to become more flood resilient.
The IFC will also have an exhibit. Stop by to visit with IFC staff!
