IFC sensors were overtopped by floodwaters but resumed sending data when the waters receded.
The Iowa Flood Center has announced that the Soap and Chequest Creek, Turkey River, and Upper Cedar River watersheds will each receive a $1.5 million grant for construction of watershed improvement projects to support flood mitigation.

The floodplain maps for Kalona underwent another round of revisions when the IFC team applied a major precipitation event to the model. This added layer of complexity better shows where the true risk is, Weber explained. “We wanted to be able to provide the best kind of map.”
