Iowa Flood Center researchers will play a critical role in the new national center by contributing expertise in hydroinformatics, flood monitoring and mapping, and outreach.
IFC Director Witold Krajewski was selected to receive the 2021 Tadeusz Sendzimir Applied Sciences Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of flood research.
Krajewski is selected for major scientific advances in hydrometeorology, flood prediction, and water resources. He is one of seven University of Iowa faculty members named as fellows.
“Our forecast system will provide that very specific home by home, business by business, farm by farm depth of water at the time of a levee breach or levee overtopping,” says IFC co-founder Larry Weber.
