On a Wednesday afternoon in June, a severe storm outbreak spawned huge thunderstorms across Iowa and western Illinois. NASA’s Polarimetric precipitation radar was in place to scan the storms as they swept through the region.
The Iowa Flood Center offers Iowans a set of readily accessible online tools through the Iowa Flood Information System (IFIS). IFIS provides maps and up-to-date information about community-specific flood conditions across the state.
The Living with Floods forum, hosted as part of the Living with Floods project, will provide an opportunity to share the progress and community accomplishments that have been made since past flood events and to look ahead to work that still needs to be accomplished.
