Exploring the Effect of Reservoir Storage on Peak Discharge Frequency
This paper looks at how different design and operational aspects of a single flood storage reservoir regulate peak discharges. The results highlight that the existing flood frequency estimation methodology currently used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers may lead to an underestimation of flood risk for locations immediately downstream of regulated reservoirs.
