Connecting the Power-Law Scaling Structure of Peak-Discharges to Spatially Variable Rainfall and Catchment Physical Properties

This paper addresses the physical basis of the spatial organization of peak floods by using the Cedar River basin in Iowa as a test basin. The results of the study will contribute towards establishing a physically meaningful framework for flood prediction in ungauged basins in Iowa and elsewhere.
