My work is funded through a USDA Conservation Innovation Grant awarded to the Iowa League of Cities to develop a nutrient trading system in Iowa in order to improve water quality and reduce costs to point sources and taxpayers. I am developing the scientific framework for this project by evaluating agricultural conservation practices for nutrient and flow reduction under variable hydrologic conditions using watershed models. My research interests are in Ecohydrology – applying engineering and hydrologic principles to relevant environmental and ecological issues.
I obtained a BS in civil engineering from Washington State University in May 2012 and a MS in civil & environmental engineering from the University of Iowa in May 2014.
