Iowa Flood Center Helps Iowans Prepare for Floods

(KCRG-TV story) The Iowa Flood Center says Iowa has seen $13 billion in flood damage over the last 30 years. March is Flood Awareness Month, and the IFC is introducing new technology to make preparation easier. The IFC’s Iowa Flood Information System gives people up-to-date information on river conditions and inundation maps. The new technology now allows people to not only see the areas most at risk during a flood event, it also allows them to see an estimate of what the damage will cost. (read more)
