Dr. Marcuss Hendricks, an assistant professor of urban studies & planning, will present at the weekly Iowa Flood Center meeting on February 28th. Hendricks will discuss the social dimensions of flood and stormwater infrastructure resilience as it relates to marginalized communities that are often overlooked and lacking in support. Based on several research projects, he will discuss flooding and stormwater infrastructure at the neighborhood-level, looking at minor systems designed for everyday nuisance flooding, which also mitigate floods during heavy rainfall events.
