Iowa Flood Center Webinar: IFloodS Overview
February 28, 2013 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pmFree
The Iowa Flood Center will host an informational webinar regarding the Iowa Flood Studies (IFloodS) on Thursday, February 28, from 3:30 – 4:30 PM.
Witold Krajewski, Iowa Flood Center Director, will provide an overview of IFloodS, share online resources, and discuss opportunities for collaboration and engagement.
IFloodS is a field experiment being conducted in northeast Iowa by NASA – in collaboration with other agencies and research partners – during the spring of 2013. The main goal of the experiment is to support ground validation activities of the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) satellite mission and will include the deployment of numerous scientific instruments to collect high quality rainfall data. The data will help improve flood forecasting models.
The webinar is free and open to all persons, please feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested.
